Memorandum on the Preparation of the Declaration of the European Socialist Countries' Leaders (Moscow, 28 June 1983)

Description: This memorandum provides information on the preparation of a declaration to demonstrate the unity of the Socialist countries on the question of the preservation of the balance of power between the Warsaw Pact and NATO. This declaration was prompted by increasing pressure from NATO, and the US in particular. The attached appendix outlines Hungary's specific considerations on the form and content of the document.
