This is a transcript of an interview with Czechoslovak Colonel Karel Štěpánek. He describes the wartime tasks of the Czechoslovak armed forces as assigned by the General Staff of the Soviet Armed Forces in 1964. He admits that the requirements exceeded the capabilities of Czechoslovakia. In order to assess adequately the requirements for the Czechoslovak mission, officers of the General Staff conducted a secret reconnaissance mission in Western Europe.
